About Us
Our primary focus is Reining and Working Cow,however we are not limited to these disciplines. Eastside at eastside, the training program is based on consistent work, with proven techniques and gentle, but firm hands. Each horse’s natural talents and abilities are developed and molded to create a respectful and willing equine athlete. Our facility boasts a competition size arena, set up for working cow and roping, three round pens, hot walker, wash racks, tack rooms, several large corrals, community pastures, 18 stall barn, an open air barn, breeding lab, foaling pen, picnic and BBQ area and miles of trails. The premises are monitored 24 hours a day. Eastside Ranch has been active in the Cow Horse Industry for over 10 yrs, actively serving on the board of SCRCHA, competing in National, Regional and local shows, earning many Championship titles, both in the Open and Non Pro classes.Training
Individual programs are offered according to the needs of the rider. Some riders like to ride for fun and just want to learn to be a better horse person. For those, we offer basic horsemanship instructions, where you learn to ride and care for your horse safely. For the intermediate rider, we offer more advanced instruction, fine tuning the skills of reining and working cows for competition. Some prefer to have their cow horse shown for them and take pride in owning a fine horse, watching it excel in competition arena. For the Horse
We accept horses at many different levels in training. Starting horses begins with a good foundation. Here a young horse is taught respect and good ground manners, giving a solid foundation to build on as the horse progresses toward saddling, riding and further training. Eventually, the Green horses are refined for performance. The horse is taught to properly pickup correct leads, complete lead changes, back willingly, complete maneuvers in various gaits with good bend and light touch. As the horse progresses Polishing of the Finished Horse is next. Here performance horses are finely tuned and the horse’s natural abilities and talents are brought out. Lead changes become smoother, spins faster, sliding stops longer.
